Our History
RC Law LLP was established in January 2017 in New York and Miami by Xavier Ruiz, following over two decades of practice in some of the world’s leading law firms, including Baker & McKenzie, K&L Gates, and Holland & Knight. Mr. Ruiz’s extensive experience also spans legal practice in Spain and Argentina. Since its inception, RC Law has organically expanded by welcoming a cadre of skilled attorneys from diverse backgrounds.
In August 2021, RC Law merged with Sanchez Fisher Levine LLP, a Miami-based firm renowned for its expertise in complex commercial litigation, corporate investigations, white-collar crime, and international arbitration. This strategic alliance operates under an ‘Of Counsel’ arrangement, uniting the two firms under shared best practices and resource pooling. This integration has broadened our presence with offices now in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Our attorneys are licensed to practice across California, Washington DC, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Spain, enhancing our ability to manage a variety of legal challenges across multiple jurisdictions.
Our Philosophy
We like to partner with our clients and to be regarded as their “trusted advisors” in addition to their legal counsel. We often go beyond rendering legal advice and assist clients in the development of their business policies and strategies.
We know that clients want their counsel to be “hands on” and not lose control over the matters entrusted to them because of work delegation or otherwise. We understand well that clients are concerned about overstaffing and especially about the common “pyramid” structures at large law firms which often have unnecessary layers of lawyer review. Our size and approach to lawyering help ease those concerns. We are equipped to provide personalized and efficient legal support.
We are also sensitive to the clients’ concerns about legal costs and are ready to share the risks (and rewards) with them. We are open to consider a variety of alternative fee arrangements and, in certain circumstances, to provide free consultation.
